Remember, Reader, looking at a business month by month makes patterns harder to ignore and easier to correct, especially under real constraints.
This is a brief review of what mattered, what shifted, and what stayed steady for me this month, based on decisions already in motion, the signals they reinforced, and the adjustments it required.
And if you're new here wondering what this is all about -
This is a monthly strategic review of my business in real time published at the end of each month. The first edition was in January and will run through the end of the year. Previous editions are available at the bottom. Welcome.
Let's talk about June.
1. The Overall
What kind of month this was at a strategic level in one sentence.
June was a technology month with a conference work sprint.
2. The Reality
What actually moved and what didn’t in the business.
- Launched Meta ads for the Seen On Purpose private podcast. You should subscribe to listen.
- Very important conference pages sent to copywriters for review and feedback.
- Conference waitlist is live.
- Conference affiliate outreach begins in earnest through July/early August.
- CRM is built. Remaining work is automations and quality control.
- No new speaking engagements booked for June, but an upcoming one in July.
- Intentional networking upticked this month with group memberships under evaluation with a decision expected by mid-July.
- Taking intentional rest and focused planning time through the July 4th holiday.
3. The Numbers
The metrics I paid attention to this month.
- Seen On Purpose subscribers: 31
- New email subscribers from ad launch: 19
- Conference affiliate recruitment goal: 100
- Conference pages in review: 3
- Tech tools upgraded or added: 5
4. The Removals
What was stopped.
Overthinking the content repurposing process. The system will get built during the rest period. Thinking about it in place of doing it was the thing to stop.
The expectation that tech infrastructure manages itself. This month required showing up as the builder with a plan, not just the business owner with a vision.
5. The Additions
What I intentionally reinforced or introduced.
A copywriting membership that is already producing results. It is an ongoing investment through the end of the year and has already improved my conversion and sales copy.
AI agents built and implemented to run business operations faster, with early exploration of API-level access to reduce costs at volume.
Two new email list cleaning processes now programmed to run automatically on a monthly and quarterly cadence via Claude CoWork.
A Claude Skills pack from a creator whose work I follow, covering capabilities I wanted but didn't know how to start. Fast forward button.
A free, six-hour workshop designed to help with better focusing content around “divine clients”. If you want to know more about the workshop, just reply.
6. The Adjustments
What this month clarified or confirmed for my business.
The business is now visibly operating in two lanes at once: the ongoing business strategy and operations consulting work as well as the conference build. Managing both without letting either slip is the work of Q3.
Tech fluency is no longer optional at this stage. Cookie banners, Google Tag Manager, GA4, HTML modifications, screen responsiveness — all of it touched this month. The investment in understanding the stack is paying off in fewer dependencies.
7. The Carry-Forward
What I’m taking into next month.
The conference affiliate push begins. The goal is 100 people. I do nothing in small bunches. If you're interested in learning more, let me know. There is an extra gift for being an affiliate.
Seen On Purpose releases several episodes over the next two weeks, then moves to three to four per month through the conference period.
A second ad campaign goes live in early July.
Conference speaker outreach is the July priority.
June held a lot of moving parts, including backend and public-facing components.
That's June.
If there is anything mentioned here that you want to learn more about, just reply.
Until next month,
Chanaye
